Our Story
Molecular You was founded in 2014 in Vancouver, BC, as a spin-off of the Personalized Medicine Initiative (PMI). Rob Fraser, PhD, cofounded PMI alongside leading Canadian scientists and clinicians to lay the groundwork for individualized medicine—tailoring healthcare solutions to each patient’s unique needs. Molecular You emerged to make this vision a reality, combining advanced molecular technologies with actionable health insights.
Since its inception, Molecular You has been at the forefront of molecular medicine, continually pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in personalized health. By integrating cutting-edge science with a commitment to improving patient outcomes, we’ve grown from a pioneering startup to a leader in predictive health solutions.
Our Approach
By analyzing molecular data, we assess over 250 biomarkers that cover 15 disease categories and 12 biological pathways—from diabetes and cardiovascular diseases to Alzheimer’s. Our holistic process integrates AI to produce advanced health insights with personalized and interconnected results, equipping healthcare providers with the knowledge to take proactive steps toward better health for their patients.

Our work is grounded in collaboration with some of the brightest minds in science and medicine. Dr. Pieter Cullis, our co-founder and board chair, is a professor at the University of British Columbia and a trailblazer in lipid nanoparticle research. Professor David Wishart, Molecular You co-founder and advisor, leads the Wishart Lab at the University of Alberta. Specializing in metabolomics and biomarker discovery, Dr. Wishart’s expertise drives innovation in our technologies.

Our History
- 2014: Molecular You founded out of the Personalized Medicine Initiative.
- 2018: Received the TEC Edmonton Spin-Off Achievement Award for advancing personalized health technologies in collaboration with The Metabolomics Innovation Centre (TMIC).
